Dr. Raja is a board-certified cardiologist with more than 10 years of experience caring for patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. His clinical interests include preventive cardiology and advanced noninvasive cardiac imaging, with a focus on identifying heart disease early and helping patients reduce their risk before serious problems develop.
Dr. Raja completed his Internal Medicine training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and his Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology.
Before joining Alliance Heart & Vascular, Dr. Raja served as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). He also served as the Director of Cardiology Services for UTMB Mainland Hospitals, where he played an important role in advancing cardiovascular care for patients with heart attacks and other acute cardiac conditions.In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Raja has been deeply involved in medical education. As a faculty member and course co-director at the John Sealy School of Medicine, he taught cardiac physiology and helped train medical students, residents, and the next generation of cardiologists.
Dr. Raja's approach to patient care is simple: treat every patient like family with compassion, respect, and personal attention. He believes that exceptional heart care should be evidence-based, individualized, and accessible. He works closely with each patient to develop a personalized care plan that not only addresses their cardiovascular needs but also fits their health goals and lifestyle.
